Solve : Computer Overheating?

Answer»

I've been having this problem with my computer for quite some time, so I'll get into the story first as well as some information that I'm able to gather about my computer.

My computer screwed up the last time I had to get my computer fixed due to a thunderstorm which meant that the power supply was switched with a new one.

It's really weird because for some odd reason my comptuer turns off RANDOMLY and when I turn it back on again after a few minutes I get an error at the startup screen that the computer failed dued to overheating and that the problem should be fixed immediately.

I've asked a few friends and they've told me that it could be a software problem of some sort, but I know for sure this is not true because I've tried it using two operating systems and I still have the same problem.

Here is information that I was able to gather in terms of power specifications using Everest.

CPU Properties:
CPU Type Intel Pentium 4, 2200 MHz (22 x 100)

Any help would greatly be appreciated, thanks in advance. Is this system being overclocked ? ?

More info and SOMEONE will be along shortly to assist...

Power surge from storm has damaged something else besides the power supply.
