Solve : Computer Repeatedly Shuts Off?

Answer»

My computer has done something twice now that is starting to worry me.

It shut down randomly- it was not overheated from what I could TELL, not very hot. I've FELT it at a higher temp. before, and felt it when it actually DID overheat. Then, I go to turn it back on, it shows me the "Toshiba" logo thingy, then automatically shuts back off. It did this about six times before it actually let me back on. The first time, I let it "REPAIR" (Which took hours. I actually had to end it manually because it didn't seem to be ending anytime soon) and thought that would fix it, but it did it a second time. My computer has not alerted me of any sort of virus. (My protection is Norton)

Does anyone know what the problem could be?
(I have a Toshiba and have had it for about two years now.)You mentioned heating problem. Post the hardware reports and use HWMonitor. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
What type of REPAIRS do you mean you've made?I mean that it just pulled up the black screen with two options- "Repair" and "Start Windows Normally". I chose repair-- it didn't tell me EXACTLY what it was doing.

And I'll have to read over that. Seems a tad complicated. o.e

(Thank you for the response!)
