Solve : Computer shuts down on its own.?

Answer»

I have no clue why this happened.. Its a fairly new computer. I think it may be a overheating issue, but the fans are WORKING properly. There is no dust in the computer, but i took out the fans and cleaned behind them anyway..

I did a Core temperature check and it reads 106 degrees F, which i understand it high, but that temperature never changes.. I opened the side and blasted it with a fan, but the temp remained at 106, which has me confused..

When i turn it on after having it sit for a while it will remain on for 10 minutes or so, but immediately after trying to restart once it turns off it only stays on for a minute or so..

I still think its a heating issue, but why isnt the temperature changing from 106 even if i have a fan right on it?

Please help.Quote from: ogclip on February 06, 2010, 06:31:43 PM

106F (41C) is very cool, no issue there. Thanks for the quick reply.. Any reason as to why my PC turns off? Ive never had an issue liek this.. I woke up in the morning, and it started happening.. I didnt download any programs or anything..

Thank youNo BSOD or unusual Windows messages? It turns off all by itself?
Could be a bad PSU (Power Supply Unit).
What is make and MODEL number of computer?Nothing.. It just turns off on its own.. No messages or anything.. The model is Emachines ET1831-03.. Like I said its a new computer, only 3 months or so.. If the PSU is broken i should be under a warranty or something, right?

Thanks for you help.Return the machine under Warranty.Ditto Patio. Don't waste your time with it. It's defective from the factory. Let them deal with it.

OK ...
Buy a new machine and bugger it under warranty and we'll go from there...
We'll wait right here.
