Solve : computer shuts off?

Answer»

I looked around to see if anyone asked the same question, but I didn't find it.

I have a laptop and sometimes when i've been playing a computer game for awhile my computer will without WARNING completely shut off.

I suspect this is because the computer gets too hot, after it shuts off it won't TURN back on again for awhile.

Is this harmful to my computer, is there anything I can do to prevent it besides quit playing when the computer starts to get hot.

Thank you.markodylan ........ I would suspect that the shutdowns are a heat related issue......... Games tend to work the machine hard hence the additional heat. Make sure there is good air FLOW around the machine and that there isnt any DUST underneath possibly enhancing the issue.

dl65 Thank you.And for answering WHETHER or not its harmful to the computer:
Yes, in some ways it is.
It causes faster ware and tare on the computer, which, could cause the CPU and Motherboard to go bad before their normal usage expirations.
