Answer» When I turn on my HP laptop it starts normally but then instead of going to the windows screen it goes to this black screen and these numbers start to run. It stops at 5390 or 5309, one of the two and flashes and reads (tzupd.exe); thus rubbing its HATRED for me in my face. I really need my computer to start, at least to get the files off of it before I take it in. Any suggestions as to what may be wrong or what to do?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Oh yes and my laptop is hp dv6000 (one of those white ones). it runs VISTA. And any other info needed please ask.
Ciao
Maybe yours is one of the recalled ones: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c01087277 I assume this just started. What happened between the last time your system started normally and the first time it didn't (new hw, sw, virus, etc)?well i was watching a movie, and fell asleep and when I woke up it was off and would not start. Prior to that it did not show a lot of problems other than being slow. You're not in Morocco, are you?no I'm in CANADA, what does morrocco have to do with it ?The filename you mentioned is a Microsoft Update for Moroccan Daylight Savings Time.
Have you tried booting to the Vista CD and trying the restore options?
Also, you can TRY running a boot time av scan (just to rule out malware).
