Solve : Computer starting to lag ALOT!!? |
|
Answer» I recently but windows 7 on my computer, its was working great for about 2 months. Yesterday my computer started to lag alot so i checked if it was windows 7, i reset the computer but i still had the lag so i checked if anything was overheating, and it said fan 1 was overheating - im guessing thats the one for the processor since its the only one with the rpm - i opened up my computer pushed the fan in a little bit and it stopped overheating (i think my computer internal temperature was to hot), now when i try to use my computer it lags alot and according to the cpu guage its not overworking, is there anyway to check if my cpu was damaged?Sounds to me like you should re-do your thermal paste and heat sink. If you do noy know how to do this you can do a search on (thermal paste and heat sink) QUOTE from: shrshr429 on May 17, 2009, 09:08:35 AM it said fan 1 was overheating How hot did it indicate?it had the FLAME, if i could guess around 55-60 degreesIt had the flame in what program ? ? You need to be more specific because we can't see your machine from here... Also what machine is this that Win7 was installed on ? ? We THRIVE on details here.I stated speedfan before, thats what the flame was shown. Asus Striker 680i 2tb western digital sata 4gb kingston ddr2 intel E6850 ati radeon graphics card x-- 1 sony cd drive 1 sony dvd drive 1 logitech dvd burner (not hooked up) 600w power supplyThere was no REFERENCE to SpeedFan... However the specs are more than enough for Win7... When you say you pushed in a fan what exactly did you do ? ? Have you checked the BIOS temps and compare them to SpeedFan ? ?The computer isnt lagging because of software issues that why i didnt bother posted any specs on my computer its a hardware issue with the cpu and/or fan. I just pushed the fan in to make sure if tightly in place, which im guessing fixed the other heating problem. I'm not near my computer currently to check if the bios temperature matches up but it most likely will. I will check the thermal paste when i get home and see if theres any problems there, i will most likely have to replace it.OK.I just checked the bios temps and they're exactly the same. Any other ideas besides the thermal paste. What temps ? ? Post both load and no load readings.Speedfan temps [attachment deleted by admin]I checked the temperatures on bios, it said the CPU is 47 C and the MIB TEMP 34 C, i checked the thermal paste on the cpu, there is barely any on, is that the problem?Thermal Paste Guide. |
