Answer» I have an Everex Desktop; AMD 3400+; on-board video & sound.
When I push the start button, the computer looks (& Sounds) to be booting up.
However, the monitor then says "No Video Signal" and suspends, my Microsoft Blue OPTICAL mouse does not "light up" or show any life.
I have checked the monitor, and mouse on 2 other computers, and they both work fine.
Does anyone have any ideas ?
Did this just start to happen? did you add or do anything to your computer that started this.
Boot in safe mode and see if you see anything on the screen, If you cannot do you have a graphics card you could try. No, it has done this 5-6 times over the last 3 weeks. I would just do a hard (Power-button) reboot, and it would re-start just fine and act normal.
Yesterday a.m. I tried this to no avail, and it has not started up CORRECTLY since.
I've added nothing, did a WinXP home fresh install 3-4 months ago.
I thought about trying ANOTHER graphics card (have to get one) but if the mouse doesn't work it wont be much help anyway.Quote from: gtolemonds on April 20, 2008, 06:24:26 PM When I push the start button, the computer looks (& Sounds) to be booting up.

So... Are you saying nothing at all ever appears on the monitor during a hard boot (power on) other than "No Video Signal"? No computer VENDOR graphic, motherboard graphic, or POST diagnostic display? Any audio "beep" code from motherboard (or case) speaker?
