Solve : computer starts only for a few seconds then off?

Answer»

got a ecs elitegroups PA1 MVP motherboard. radeon 1300 crossfire ready pci-e graphics card. shunt card is INSTALLED. an old hard drive and a new hard drive one in the ibs plug and another in the SATA plug cause the old one isn't sata. i TRIED it with and without the old drive plugged into the hard drive. has 24-pin 600 watt power source with it set on the low setting of output. i had tried it with an nvidia 6200 non cross fire ready with the exact same result. i'm sure it's SOMETHING obvious and i just don't know what to look for. the motherboard works FINE the pentium works fine (775 pin) the fan works fine but the hwole computer just starts up and has no monitor signal at all and then shuts itself off without explanation. trying to say everything i can think of here.... tried flashing the bios a few times didn't seem to help tried resetting the computer clock.... the cd drives are correctly configured for master/slave and the hard drives apparently don't have a switch to MAKE one master and the other slave so. i'm guessing something somewhere in this mix is incompatible somehow but i don't get how as everything fits... has anyone encountered this problem before? It's always smartt to benchtest the thing BEFORE mounting in the case. At this point though disconnect everything except the motherboard, COPU/Fan, video card and 1 stick of RAM. Does this boot? If not there is an installation problem. If it works add one thing at a time for an extended testing period to see what causes the failure.

By adding everything at once, if it doesn't work you don't have a clue where the problem is. alright cool but does that include the harddrive? not sure if there's a special dry boot or something... i have a hard drive with stuff on it and without stuff on it btwStart with just the basics. Hard drive is added later as well. One thing at a time.
