Answer» Hi
Since last night my computer has STARTED switching itself on when i have closed it down. I use window XP home, any help would be appreciated. It is probably in your BIOS settings.
Scroll down to Wake On LAN and/or Wake On RING and change them to Disable.Unplug it 1 I dont see any of them setting in my bios.
2 I could just unplug it, but i would prefer to find out whats causings it. The computer parts are STILL under warrenty. I BUILT the system myself last year, so i need to determine the part that has a fault, in order to send that part back.Aside from that, does it cause any other problems? Always done this?No it just started doing it last night. It doesnt cause anyother problems. One other thing when i hold the power button down instead of the normal shutdown, it stays turned OFF.Hm give us an update tomorrow.Ok can anyone else answer this update. When i disable all my network cards my computer seems to run fine (no switching itself on). So it has something to do with my computer when it is connected to the internet, through a certain network CARD it switches itself on. Ok does anyone have any idears. You can read the below sites.
Power Management section of the motherboard's BIOS.

http://gsd.di.uminho.pt/jpo/software/wakeonlan/mini-howto/wol-mini-howto-2.htmlOk i have looked at the links. Please can you tell me one more thing, Who will it be turning my computer on and why would they want to do this.
Thanks.
