Answer» HI! I just built a computer and after a minute or two it shuts off. Th CPU is at about 87 degrees celcius. People are saying I need a 500 watt pw supply. Is that TRUE. I have taken some excess thermal paste off of the cpu/cpu fan. I really need help! Any help is appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!You don't have a DEDICATED GPU so the 250w should be fine. The 87 Celsius is pretty hot. Your computer might be turning itself off in protection. Have you INSTALLED an operating system yet? Quote I have taken some excess thermal paste off of the cpu/cpu fan. What does this mean? You took thermal paste off the CPU? Why?
