Solve : Computer will not initialize video? |

Answer» A couple of months ago I began to have a problem where my computer would shut itself off.After a while it would turn back on. Then about a month ago it shut itself off and now there is no video. I took it to a local shop and they said it looked LIKE it sould have been either/or the board or CPU. The computer is an old Compaq Presario 5108US an a MV 720 monitor.It has an AMD 1.2 cpu. Recently I put in a 450 watt power supply and upgraded to memory to 640 MB ram. After replacing board and cpu the computer ran 18 hours and then shut down again. This time I deceided to replace the video CARD. I put in a nvivia GE Force 8400GS and STILL can't get video. As a matter of fact I have tried 4 different cards and still no video. I also tried the cpu from my sons computer-a P3 and still nothing. |
