Solve : Computer will not read recordable dvd discs.?

Answer»

So my computer will not read the recordable DISCS i bought on my computer. I burned some stuff on a couple of them on another computer and then i put them in my computer and they it reads thoughs that have data on the. But it wont read the ones taht are blank. I mean i put them in my computer and click on the dvd-cd-rw drive and it LETS me go into it, but when i try to burn SOMETHING to it it says there is no cd in it. Help please. I have windows xp if that helps For the ones that you know have data on them but cannot be read the most COMMON cause of this is that the burning session itself was not "finalised"...
To remedy this DLoad and install the FREE version of ISOBuster...
You can then extract the data to your HDD and then re-burn the compilation making sure it is finalised.
This setting is different with all burn apps so we may need more info.

As far as the blank ones the only thing i can suggest is borrow 1 or 2 blanks of different Brands of blanks...some burners are picky about what Brands they like.It would help if you could tell us what software you are using to burn these disc.I have TRIED nero 9 and deep burner pro. Neither of them worked it keeps saying the drive is empty or cannot be modified . But my computer reads the ones that already have data on them(i have tried adding data the to the ones that my computer reads and it says drive cannot be modified) . IT just dosent read the blank ones. So your suggesting that my burner just dosent like the discs? What discs do you think i should use. I have Sony DVD+r 120/min 4.7gb Accucore RW Quote

you might want to buy a dvd r-w disk and test burn to it so you don't make disks that are unreadable Is the blank DVD recognized by Window Explorer?
