Answer» I have a Dell Vostro 1500 computer. the DVD drive is labeled in the device manager as: PBDS DVD+-RW DS-8WIP ATA device. when I CLICKED on it the device manager GAVE me this code: This device cannot start (code10). I tried to update the driver and it said I had the best version of the driver.
When I go into my computer the DVD drive is not even listed.
I am running windows vista 32-bit with service pack 2.

Go to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. You'll see two items: - ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel) - ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel) Right click on each of them, and click Uninstall. Confirm. Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.
