Could any one PLEASE avise me on what the problem could be.
Thanks for any advice jhadd
Does the error crop up randomly or do a set of actions trigger it?Have you tried resetting CMOS with the jumper?
Could you download http://www.memtest.org/ and run it for 10 passes to make sure that your RAM is error-free?Its not my computer i was asked to look at it the information i got the computer gave an erroe message, ( an application as caused a problem reboot in safe mode )
When he tried to reboot nothing happens even this BIOS doesn't start to load so unable to carry out any checks.
Thanks for your reply jhaddOh you mean it won't even power up...
When you hit the power button are the fans running? Do the fans jolt, even for a second?
I guess you'll have to swap out components with a known working computer in ORDER to determine which one is the culprit...It powers up the fan runs the led lights are on it's the BIOS that doesn't start. There are many issues that could cause the motherboard to fail to POST... the most common of which in my experience is problems with the CPU. If you power on a working motherboard without a CPU the fans just keep running, the LEDs are on, nothing comes up on the screen.
The only sure way is to swap out all the parts for known working ones, though...Thanks for the help i'll try disconnecting all the hardware see if that helps thanks again jhadd
