Its a slotted pentium 3, Asus P3B-F Jumperfree ATX Motherboard, 320 mb SDRAM, Western Digital Caviar 205AA 20.5 GB Model # WD20AA- OOANAO, RJ45, MODEM,Sound Card MASA Sound Advance Logic inc. ALS4000, Trident Blade 9880 A Gacoz H2T42.00 9952/39123851 Trident '99 AGP, Promise Tech inc. Ultra 100 Maxtor Ultra 100 V2.01 B27 PCI Harddrive Connocter card. Wasn't sure about the sound card and VIDEO card just what it said on it. The Hard Drive isn't seen in the BIOS and I changed the drive and the IDE cable and still nothing. Its jumper is set to master. When I connected it to an external HD connector I could see the drive. I tried removeing everything an putting it in a pc like it cards,HD,CD - ROM. The controller card or Ultra 100 had a bent pin, could this cause the problem?Yes. A bent pin will do this.
Is there an OS installed on this drive ?
Do the MBoard IDE connectors not work ?
Did this drive come from another machine ?

Sorry but we're still gonna need more info.No its a COMPLETE blank drive, but i had tried fone with an os on it 2k. No they work I just had the card for the 2 gb Maxtor witch I took off since I THINK its bad. Yes but I have 4 of these same machine I'm useing drives from the an hardware. I removed the card and no changes.Your response is practically incoherent.

Sorry I should have tried an explained better. The drive I want to use is blank. I tried useing one from a pc exatly like this one with 2k on it. The board IDE connectors work, I was useing the card for a 2 gb maxtor drive. I have four of the exact same pcs that i'm useing the hardware from.Throw the card out as it has a bent pin...
Take a sledgehammer to that Maxtor as it has been the source of most of your issues for sometime now...
DLoad and create a bootdisk from bootdisk.com for the OS you are trying to install on the blank drive...
At the A: prompt type in format C: /u and hit Enter to make sure that drive is wiped clean...
Remove the floppy...re-boot to the OS CD and install.Where is dload? I can't find knoppix on there.
