Solve : Connecting SATA dvd drive to IDE dvd drive?

Answer»

Hello all,  novice here with a problem.  I am (ENJOYING) building a PC but I am having a problem.  I am taking an IDE dvd BURNER from my very OLD PC and trying to install it into the new build.  How can I connect the IDE dvd burner to the SATA dvd burner that is in the new computer? Do I need some kind of SATA to IDE adapter?  If so, where can I find it?  Thanks for any help or suggestions. TAre you sure your motherboard has no IDE connector?  Many have only one.
They do make adapters, but I haven't had much success with them.  It's almost as cheap to buy a new burner. Some boards don't have them now. My new board does, but if it didn't, it wouldn't matter as I'm not using it.

If there's no connector and you have a SATA drive, I'd just leave the IDE out unless you're planning on doing lots of disc to disc on the fly burning.

I believe there are adapters, can't tell you where at the MOMENT, posting this from my phone.
