Answer» I press both buttons and hear the printer scan the photo. "Processing data - please wait" APPEARS on the screen but the color bar does not move. "ABBY Fine Reader will be terminated" appears. No PDF file is to be found. What should I do?Is the the guide to your printer? http://files.support.epson.com/pdf/nx100_/nx100_qr.pdf Epson Stylus NX100 Series Quick Guide You have to specify a file name and location. Did you do that? Also, check the ABBY support site http://finereader.abbyy.com/ downloads, patches and FAQ. What if you save the scanned picture first before editing in PDF?The printer is the NX130 which has different buttons to the NX100 in the guide. ABBYFine Reader is for editing the PDF file. I do not need that. I only want the PDF file. How to I SAVED the Scanned picture? The ABBY notice comes up before there is any sign that the scan is being saved.I uninstalled ABBY and then tried again by pressing the two buttons on the printer and the scan then seemed to work but I could not find the PDF file. I then clicked on the NX130 on the task bar and followed the scan instructions there and that worked. Problem solved. I still do not KNOW why the instructions in the printer's User Guide. Thanks for the comments. The conversion of scan to PDF is PART pf the driver package for the Epson printers of that MODEL series. Here are Epson support pages: http://files.support.epson.com/htmldocs/pr449p/pr449pug/projs_5.htm http://support.epson-europe.com/onlineguides/en/gts5080/html/projs_3.htm Notice in these cases a program does the conversion, not the printer itself.
