Solve : Corrupt BIOS? |
|
Answer» I tried updating my BIOS the other day and my PC froze during the procedure. I now have no BIOS. Please help!!Consult motherboard manual for BIOS recovery procedure. If not available, either remove the BIOS chip and get it flashed with the correct BIOS, or else order a new one. If the chip is soldered to the motherboard, specialist skills are needed to remove it. In this case, motherboard replacement may be the most effective option. motherboard replacement may be the most effective option. sorry for your loss You could read the below site and give it a try. http://www.technibble.com/how-to-recover-from-a-bad-bios-update/this is why BIOS updates should only be performed when necessary for proper functionality. Why were you attempting to flash the BIOS in the first place? It was a suggestion as to a possible fix for windows not seeing my audio hardware. Also BIOS temps were wrong.A BIOS flash to fix a Windows issue is ALWAYS a bad idea...but you've learned that already... How did you determine the temps were wrong ? ?If Windows was not seeing your audio hardware, there's the possibility that BIOS was configured with the onboard audio disabled. Were you referring to onboard audio or a separate sound card?hi all, I have somewhat same problem as mentioned in this topic.. I had window media centre EDITION 2005 before.. it CRASHED so I updated it to winxp sp3.. after the fresh installation of the windows everything worked fine except the audio...I again changed it to SP2 yet no sound...it is onboard sound so when I checked in the BIOS it was enabled and in the control panel aslo it was enabled. when I play the MUSIC it plays but no sound in the output and at the sametime I changed BIOS battery but bios doesn't save and I have to change it everytime I open it.. Please suggest me as I have: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2 AMD Athlon(TM) 64 Processor 2800+, 1.80 GHZ, 704mb of RAM MSI Board K8M800 8237 (MSI AGP 8X) board.... question here........shall I stick with the SP2 (if it is beacuse of the Windows version) or roll back to Media Centre Edtion 2005?? I will be very happy if you suggest me..... Hello Crazy_Thinks try the sound driver at the below link. http://www.sendspace.com/file/daujx0 |
