Answer» I was gifted a crappy computer for Christmas and within the past year I've been upgrading it. I'm trying to make it a pretty good gaming computer. I've upgraded my ram and graphics card but I'm going to upgrade my processor now.
Right now I have a *CENSORED* Gateway D102GGC2 Motherboard with a INTEL celeron d processor and I want to get this processor:

Would my motherboard work with it? If you need any more info let me know. Sorry, this is an intel board
an AMD processor would not even fit
FINDING a good processor for that board will be difficult, here is a list of all compatible CPU's
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d102ggc2/sb/CS-026580.htmAre any of those good for gaming such as medal of honor ( the new one ) or the new battlefield game? They all seem pretty old..Sorry, unless you are running something like a ATi Radeon 4850 or higher in there, with a 3GHz P4 with hyper-threading, (which would only just scrape you through on LOWEST settings) no where near.
it is true that board is very old, but still has a lot of life left in it for older games and for general use.
Bad Company 2 would ALSO perform very poorly under those conditions, too.
Could you show me a cheap but good motherboard that can work with a processor that can run battlefield/moh well?
