Solve : CPU and Motherboard upgrade question....?

Answer»

I am currently using a PENT D processor with a ASUS MoBo...I want to upgrade to a QUAD CORE Processor which would also require a new MoBo...my primary question is, will my existing hardware i.e harddrives, memory, DVD drives, graphics card ect. be able to be intergrated to new MoBo...spec-wise they will be identical, just that the newer MoBo will have more features and be able to accept the QUAD Core where the other can't....and will I need a new harddrive to install my OS (WINDOWS XP)....helpful answers will be greatly APPRECIATED...THANX other hardrive STILL useful like harddisk, video sound, lan or modem.. but you need onother operating systemOk basically , the answer to your question is yes , i don't know the make or model or your graphics's card but i assume as long as it has basic pci-express port as well as a 4 basic slots for your other cards aka sound card , network adapter and all those pieces of hardware ,,,, as for your hard drive is it SATA or basic hard drive you need to get that checked and make sure your board meets sata requirements now i can tell you whether your memory will work or not , but i need to know what type of memory you have ddr2 etc you need to be specific because havening the wrong memory in your new mobo ain't going to be the best of things , your dvd drive will work as well.if you have the full version of Windows it will work on another new mobo ..ddr2 memory will work too.
this fairly brand new mobo here is a nice bargain with included hi-fi audio sound too!
