Answer» Does any one know a good way to cool your CPU without buying a CPU fan specifically for it? my processor tends to overheat and I was wandering the best way to cool it down. I have baught a case fan(yet to arrive) that runs at 101cfm of airflow which is very good will this affect my processor chip or just the general system? If there are no alternatives then please suggest some ideas. Thank you
Motherboard:ASUS A8N-SLI E Processor: AMD athlon 3600+ Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce 7900 RAM:1.75GB 80GB Hard drive PSU:600w ATX unit Fans: 1x 60mm case fan and 1x PCI dual fan card You need to cool the CPU with a fan on it or some expensive and dramatic thing like water cooling (stupid idea). There is no substitue and no reason I can think of to AVOID it.
Perhaps you just need a better fan? What do you have on there? So UR CPU is over heating and u want to TAKE OUT the fan?
If the fan isnt cooling well enough, its not a reason to try and find another solution.
Your CPU fan is the one it came with in the box. In a word - it sucks. They give u the worst fan possible, just so its possible to start the CPU without buying another fan, but the truth is u have to because it dosent perform well and its loud as *censored*. All stock fans suck..
Watercooling is the best, but its loud and expensive. What u need is a good CPU fan and Heatsink. There are many good ones for CPUs unlike graphics cards, like the Zalman CNPS9700 or Tuniq Tower. Try to look for a round up review of different CPU coolers and see wich is best for u.Download, unzip, install and run Everest Home Edition Everest

Check the temp at the moment you have problems, or soon thereafter. You need to cool the CPU with a fan on it <<< "ditto" Well when im on my comp the CPU has an average temp of around 32-35 degrees celcius. When using it for gaming it rise to 42 degrees celcius and above and on occasion may reach 50.
Though im a little SCARED of changing my heatsink and fan over, becuase of all the thermal glue/pad issue. My CPU reaches 76c, whats ur point?Would you consider my temperature to be a safe one and what would be the maximum temp that my comp can stand?Quote Would you consider my temperature to be a safe one and what would be the maximum temp that my comp can stand? Your CPU is really @ 30c? Thats incredible. I would say if it reaches 90c, turn the PC off.
