Answer» Hello, QUICK question.
Today my heatsink and CPU fan just arrived. I was looking and the CPU fan connector, it is a 4 - pin connector, yet my motherboard will only accept 3 pins.
Would it be ok for me to plug it in and leave the 1 extra pin spare? I heard it is not necessarily needed.
===================== Mobo: ASUS A8N SLI - Deluxe CPU: AMD Athlon 3700+ 939 =====================If the plug fits and the fan is definitely spinning at the appropriate speed, ie the temperature is at a good LEVEL. Then it should be fine. Wait for an EXPERT, but if the fan is powered then I don't see any issue.Ok. And just a minor question.
I got an anti static wristband today, I was just wandering what to ATTACH the crocodile clip to. I heard a grounding object, but what exactly?Ok its like this the crocodile clip you can just clip it on the pc case to ensure grounding and that is wen your UPS is connected.
Just connect the 3 pin and monitor you fan and your cpu temperature if it stays cool then you can proceed.Yes the clip connects to the case and / or a the PSU.
Shynnie, what do you mean by 'UPS'? You don't need an 'uninterruptible power supply' for this?Quote from: DeltaSlaya on July 19, 2007, 02:48:23 AM Yes the clip connects to the case and / or a the PSU.
