Answer» Hi,
I was wondering if i could get some help here. i'm getting this warning message at the startup saying "warning: your computer CPU fan fail or speed too slow". Press F1 to continue...
I have open up the case and took a close look at it. It's spinning. But unsure whether it's spinning at a slow rate or a standard one. How do i get around this problem?
Thank you in advanceYo.Sorry,

Sorry,
I forgot to give out my PC info.
It's ASUS M2N32-SLI DELUXE ACPI BIOS REVISION 0504
Main Processor: AMD ATHLON 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 4600x
Thank youSeems to happen more OFTEN to AMD Cool 'N Quiet. Set the fan monitoring option below 800RPM in the BIOS or disable it entirely like I had to. Unless you want it to keep nagging. Hi Raptor,
Thank you for getting back to me.
I was unable to find the fan monitoring option in the BIOS. Would you be able to give me more info about this? Would it be under some other name? i have been clicking all the possible selections but could not find anything by the name of "fan". Yes, i'd be more than happy to disable it if i could find it in the BIOS. It drives me nuts. But on second thought, if i disabled it, would i probably run into an overheating issue down the track because the speed of the fan might be slower below the standard or something. not sure?? but first thing first, i have to find that fan monitoring option first. Please give me some guidance.
Thank you in advanceI'll let you know in a an hour or so when I can restart this PC. Hi Raptor,
i was wondering if you've got a chance to re-start your computer to look into your BIOS for the fan option.
Thank you in advanceQuote Hi Raptor,
i was wondering if you've got a chance to re-start your computer to look into your BIOS for the fan option.
Thank you in advance Sorry! I forgot entirely.
Here, I just restarted:
Power -> HARDWARE Monitoring -> CPU fan monitoring.
Put it as low as possible or disable it entirely. Low wasn't low for me at startup because it started at 400RPM and not 800 like I am able to choose on my ASUS A8N SLI mainboard.Hi Raptor,
Thank you for your reply.
I had a look at the BIOS of the machine that has troubled with the fan monitoring. i was unabled to find the fan monitoring under the hardware monitoring option.
Let me run you through what's listed out in BIOS.
1. System Information 2. Standard CMOS setup 3. Advanced CMOS setup 4. Power Management setup 4.1 ACPI standby state 4.2 Reset on AC/Power Loss 4.3 Resume on Ring 4.4 Resume on PME 5. Peripheral setup 5.1 OnBoard LAN 5.2 OnBoard LAN Chip BOOT ROM 5.3 Init. Graphic Adapter Priority 5.4 OnBoard Serial Port 5.5 OnBoard Parallel Port .. 6. Hardware Monitor setup - i can see a list of hardware items there but they're all greyed out - nothing to select whatsoever. 7. Password Option ...
In this case, what should i do?
Thank you in advanceHave you looked through the mainboard manual YET?
I'll look it up as well when I'm at work and see if I can find anything.I had a look in the manual today and it is definitely under the hardware monitoring section. Download the manual from http://www.asus.com and see.. If I recall correctly, section 4.3
