Solve : cpu fans? |

Answer» do laptop cpu fans get harmed if running for to long like the box ones? just a yes or no You asked for this: maybe. Most , if not all, desktop and n laptops depend om forced air cooling. Forced air cooling takes in account air flow pastern to cool components. In some scenarios an open panel will cause the airflow to skip over some areas that require cooling. Open panel also allow cats, mice, FROGS and insects to enter the case. In some regions snakes will seek a warm place o a cold night. Tarzan always keeps his laptop in a secure place. Where the chimp can't get to it. And Jane won't find his lewd goat pictures. "Maybe" is a pretty good response. It all depends on the engineering and the parts used in the laptop. Was it designed and built for heavy (a lot) of usage, or not? I've tended to 'baby' the few laptops I've had, and not let them run when not needed. Laptops, because they are so popular, are more durable, in general, than they used to be.Lappys...ARNT much good.......which cpu are you using..amd althon 64 2800+ and the fan forces air to the heatsink Quote from: computer 12 on May 20, 2012, 04:33:08 AM the fan forces air to the heatsink We know that. The ANSWER is that any rotating mechanical device with a bearing will wear out eventually. In the case of a laptop CPU fan, hopefully the time this takes will be longer than the useful life of the laptop. of course a small number will fail earlier. If the laptop is run outside its design limits for long periods that could shorten the life of the fan. That computer in the video was a desktop with the side off. Not a laptop which has a closed case. Also the owner left it running and came back to find it broken. Quote from: epoh on May 19, 2012, 07:33:43 PM Lappys...arnt much good....... That is absurd. Do you have a source for that 'opinion' ? Quote from: reddevilggg on May 20, 2012, 04:57:02 AM That is absurd. Do you have a source for that 'opinion' ? That fairly new person has made a number of absurd posts. |
