Solve : CPU Running too hot?

Answer»

Hi,
My Intel E5300 is overheating. It mostly happens when I'm in a video chat with someone. CPU fan gets loud etc. At this point the CPU reaches a temperature of 75-85 degrees Celsius . I'm using Speed Fan to CHECK the temperatures. I don't really know what it is but ventilation and power management isn't the case. I already checked those settings in the BIOS. Is there anything else that might trigger this overheating?

I haven't been on this CH forum for a couple of months now and there have been changes. Some of then I'm still not aware of. If possible can someone tell me some of the changes?

ThanksMax temp for your CPU is listed at 74.1C, so don't do anything demanding until the problem is fixed.
When was the last time, you cleaned inside the case, using a can of compressed air?right about two DAYS agoYou may need to reapply thermal paste, install an extra fan....QUOTE from: Broni on September 26, 2010, 10:53:45 PM

You may need to reapply thermal paste, install an extra fan....

i did that not even a month ago.. and everything is CLEAN too
Are you using the stock CPU heatsink or a DIFFERENT one? (If the latter, which one?)

I know you've probably already checked, but are you 100% sure that the heatsink is fully seated?Also...extra fan maybe?I'm wondering if when you redid the thermal paste, you might have not applied it correctly. Why did you reapply it in the first place?Quote from: Darthgumby on September 27, 2010, 09:15:05 AM

I don't even know why i re-apply it, i think because i was cleaning my computer so why not re-apply it. And i did it right, for i checked it and it looks fine to me. By the way I've done this countless times. No Hope?Quote
Also...extra fan maybe?
