dl65 could the system simply be regonizing it incorrectly? if THATS the case, i would like to fix that, and i know for a fact that sandra registered it as a 256k CACHE chip b4 this happendQuote

he used a new heatsink and fan, and new thermal paste, but the bracket holding the heatsink on the chip is from a Asus 478 board that somone returned BC it died. the STOCK bracket broke originally, and i had been operating it with the heatsink rigged on with 16 gauge insulated wire (not my idea)...
