Answer» I have a PENTIUM III 600EB processor running windows XP pro on a desktop. Immpossible, to underclock u need a very special program and possibly a hardmod. F.Y..I... the..... Pent III 600EB ^ And here is Intel's response to AMD Athlon CPU: Pentium III on a brand new Coppermine core. At last L2 cache of Pentium III hasalso become an on-die one, though its size reduced to 256KB. We tried to compare all existing 600MHz x86 processors here. No not impossible! EB is a designation given to that chip also known as coppermine. Quote Immpossible, to underclock u need a very special program and possibly a hardmod. Not nessessarily (SP?), I can underclock my CPU right now if I wanted to, with no additional software. It's all done through BIOS. Hi there happens all the time to computers where I work. go into the bios set it to the correct speed, save it and reboot. That's it. BTW while u r in there set your mobo to stop at all errors and it will prob report incorrect cpu speed to you as an error on startup Steve |
