Answer» Okay so we have this hard drive from our computer. The computer runs for about 8 minutes and then it will shut off. We got a new power supply but didnt try it yet. They guy at circut city said it might be cracked. I was wondering maybe you know what the problem is or how to FIX it. Its got lots of OLD pics that we need so WOULD there be anyway to like transfer the pics to a new HDD?Hook it up as a slave drive in a working machine and retrieve your data... Before running it again in your machine DLoad and run the diagnostics available Free from the drive manuf. site. If it checks out OK then go ahead and INSTALL your new PSU. If there were power problems before you may have to re-install Windows and all your drivers so make sure to back up anything important when you still have it hooked up in a working machine. Never ask someone from Circuit City for computer advice...
