Solve : DDR1 to upgrade with DDR 2? |
|
Answer» I have an old laptop with SPECS Toshiba brand, MODEL SA10-S113, PSA10E-033RZ-AR, 73649977G. It has a 256 MB DDR1, PC2100,133 Mhz, 2.5V. My question is: can I UPGRADE my ram with DDR2, with a total 1GB (2 x 512MB)? As per its manual, the above laptop can be upgraded up to 1 GB. However, it does not say if I can upgrade it with DDR2. To all PC specialist, please give technical advice. Thanks in ADVANCE. No, you cant really upgrade. The type of ram is specific to the motherboard. If it calls for PC2100, than that is all it will accept. You may be able to find larger sticks of PC2100 ram, probably all the way up to 1GB per stick. You have to make sure you buy the right pin sized ram. I believe PC2100 comes in 184 and 200 pin.Do the memory test on Crucial. It will tell you what you can use or upgrade to. |
