Solve : delayed booting of brand new computer.?

Answer»

Hello, i havent been able to find any similar issues on your forums, so im posting a new thread about a mysterious issue regarding my newly assembled computer.
The thing is, the computer all to often boots about 10 secs or more after i press the power BUTTON. Sometimes, but rarely, it boots as soon as i press the power button. I have a suspicion that the psu is the issue here, since this is a 520w, taken out of my old computer. I kind of need to be certain before i invest in a new one, and since i do not have another psu to test my suspicion, i wanted to know if anyone recognises this issue? or if anyone has had similar problems with their computers? i kind of need a fast response so i can localise the problem, and eventually return some defect parts, before the WARRANTY runs out.

Thanks in Advance!Welcome*

sounds like you have a great grasp at this point...  that is a good place to start (psu)  how old was it  and could you borrow a friends and do some  tests  ...  ?hi, and thanks for your response.  The PSU is about a year/year and a half old.... not quite sure... its a 520 watt, so its quite USABLE on my new computer. i can probably borrow my bros psu, but its only a 300 watt, so im not sure it can power up my new computer... i have never experienced an issue like this... the computer runs great, temperature is cool, games run as expected.. the only problem is the booting... in the morning it starts as soon as i press the power switch, but at evenings it takes about 10/15 secs before it starts up, sometimes even longer.... its just, that a new psu costs alot, especially one with more than 500 watt.. so i gotta be 100 % sure that the psu is the problem, before i go out and buy a new oneThe advice given is the only way to determine if it is in fact the PSU...but i would try and borrow one of at least 450W or greater...
Have you checked in Device Manager for any Yellow !!'s ? ?
This can be caused by a corrupt driver as well.If it is still under warranty I would use that first and pronto. By TRYING to fix it you may void your warranty, make THINGS worse, or at least be taking the responsibility that really belongs to them.

What make and model? Is it an onsite warranty or what? Where did you get it?
