Solve : Dell Dimension 2350 Motherboard? |
|
Answer» I need a replace board for this unit Dell Dimension 2350, thing is that Dell is asking about 100 dollars which is todally unreasonable for an out dated model. I used GOOGLE an only found e-bay. Thing is that I kind of need this board before too long. The lights on the back of the orginal dont come on at all. So it seems bad.Why do you have to replace it with a Dell board ? ? Thing is that I kind of need this board before too long. Why? You have a laptop. Patio, this is a Dell unit. I dont really have funds to change everything out an the OS. Which is all ready installed with a bunch of software which I havent used in a good while, such as my BANKING stuff an what not. Cause the laptop has issues too an as a tech I ended up getting it as a carry around an second hand as well as for classes too. But it needs worked on as well. I hate some of the way things are around here at times via posting messages.Quote from: Gin on March 28, 2010, 10:59:36 AM Doesn't seem to have stopped you though Well know, but just certain things that he needs to change is all. Like I lost all of the text to my post which was rather long. Thats not the point.I had always thought that most of the lower end Dell computer cases had a non-standard MOTHERBOARD form factor. I know that my old dell did. I could only replace the motherboard with another dell motherboard.exatly, not to mention that the power supplies are differntUmmmm... We're talking about a laptop here...correct ? ?No, it's a tower unit. I would have indictated that it was a laptop if it was. Some of the older Dell DESKTOP have a unique pinout for the power supply. I'm not sure about a Dimension 2350. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=&SystemID=DIM_PNT_CEL_2350 The motherboard does not appear to be a micro-ATX, so there may be no extra mounting positions on the case. I wouldnt know about that but I ment in general hardware wise. I still need a board though. If all the lights are off on the back, it's possible that more than the motherboard are bad. If you're lucky, it could be only the psu is bad.the board gets soft power an turns on the rest of the unit. So I assume thats all it is I had the same results with a Dell Dimension 4100Quote from: Gin on March 28, 2010, 03:04:33 PM 1. the board gets soft power an turns on the rest of the unit.1. What is "soft power"? Maybe you are referring to +5VSB (+5 Standby)? 2. All "what" is? I had a 4100, same symptoms, and it was only the psu. If you want to buy a replacement motherboard, without further testing, it's your MONEY, go right ahead. |
