Solve : Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop won't turn on? |
|
Answer» I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop (out of warranty) that will not power up. When I press the power button, the power light goes on for just a few seconds, then goes out. No FAN noise, nothing on screen, nothing period. In one of the forums I read to push the FN button while pushing the power button, then holding. When I do that, the 3 LED lights (at top, the 3 LOCK lights) go on briefly, then go out. I have removed the battery, checked it (it's fine) just used AC power, just used the battery, nothing WORKS. I am suspecting that maybe the internal power board is fried or possibly the power button circuit board is fried. When I took it to my NEIGHBORHOOD computer store, it worked fine (twice!). I am at my wits end. Can someone help me? Thanks for your time.Define "...it worked fine". Define "...it worked fine".Yes, are you saying that it works normally in the computer store but not in you home?Update: I just took it to the computer geek, and it did not work at all. He seemed to THINK it was the motherboard or a part (mentioned in my previous post) on the motherboard. I 'm just wondering if I can get 1 part replaced or have to replace the entire moboard? It's probably easier & cheaper to replace the entire mobo. You can order it from Dell and do it yourself. That is what I guessed. The geek also said that or buy a new laptop. Anyway, thanks for the reply. Exactly the same thing happened to my Dell laptop. Motherboard cost too much, so sold the whole thing for parts. |
