Answer» Hi,
Two people at my workplace both USED Dell Optiplex 260 computers. I find it strange that their computers had PSU failures when they were connected to UPS's(APC 1000) that were in good condition. Could the PROBLEM be the power that FLOWS though our office wiring or are the Dell PSU's no good? Those DELLS are getting some age on them, right? Don't they date back to about 2002? So, unless you have some clear evidence that there may be a problem with the electric power in your building, it's most likely just failed PSU's in those computers.
Even if the office has some minor power fluctuations, the APC battery backups would provide a smooth power supply to the computers. So, again, it's looks LIKE failed PSU's.
