Solve : Dell Studio 1537 HD.?

Greetings. I just replaced the HD of a Dell Studio 1537 laptop. REINSTALLATION of Vista went well WITHOUT any problems. Now, How do i retrieve data (Photos, MUSIC and other Docs) from the old HD? I have a USB to IDE cable that does fit this little HD. Any ideas as how this can be done?
