Answer» Hello Do you use your game port? and do you know how many game ports you physically have? To be honest i do not know, i do not play any games. can you use them for sound, as in to play sound out of speakers. My computer was getting fixed the other day, and while he was fixing it , he noticed it had two sound cards in, so he took one out, and gave it back to me. So when i had connected all the leads and TURNED the computer on, all was fine until i connected the speakers, i COULD not get any sound from anywhere. So i put the other sound card back in and hey speakers are working. So i think , if this is right, its the onboard computer sound card that i carn't get any sound from. This other sound card just fits into a spare slot. But on the other hand has this got anything to do with it at all i will post back , after disableing the one that has the exclamation mark on it. But just to make sure is it safe to do this, As i haven't a clue about thisRight click one of them at a time and select Uninstall/Remove... Reboot and see what happens... If no joy/joy reinstall your sound card drivers...Quote from: patio on April 11, 2009, 03:10:25 PM Right click one of them at a time and select Uninstall/Remove... Hello i have done what you mentioned, but this makes no difference, it will ask you to restart the computer, for the changes to take affect, and when you do this its the same as it was. I tryed to disable it, but that just brings up a red x telling you its disabled. as i say if this is doing know harm, can i leave it as it is I'm sure it's causing no harm...missing or incorrect drivers won't harm anything. If you are real curious DLoad Everest Home and install it and run a report...it may give you more clues about the missing device.Quote Right click one of them at a time and select Uninstall/Remove... Looking over your answer again, i realised what i had done. I was uninstalling one then rebooting the computer. And then doing the same with the other one, then rebooting the computer. As you said, uninstall one, then the other, and then restart the computer That did work this time. Thankyou for your help patio Excellent...nice work ! |
