Answer» I have just built a NEW computer and have just found out that in device manager, i have a few exclimation marks under other devices. This is the list of things that have an exclimation mark Ethernet controller, Other PCI bridge device, Pci memory controller, sm Bus Controller. How do i fix these Thanks. Those are items that Windows detected, but didn't find the correct drivers for.
Looks LIKE you didn't install the drivers for your mainboard. There are usually drivers for the main chipset (IDE PCI etc...) and for any on-board or PCI LAN device these days. Looks like that's exactly what you're missing.
If drivers didn't come with your mainboard, or you're using the mainboard from a stock system, you'll have to go to the manufacturer's web-site under support and try to find drivers.
If the drivers are .exe files, the exclamation points should disappear on their own when the proper drivers are installed. If the drivers you download are just info files, you'll have to right click on all of the devices with exclamation points and select "UNINSTALL". Restart your computer and it will begin reinstalling the devices and asking you where the driver files can be found. Select "don't search" "have disk" and browse for the files where you downloaded them to.Thanks, installed MOTHERBOARD drivers and all works WELL now.
