Solve : Dial-Up wont dial.? |

Answer» Specs: Specs: What if you put SP2 on there and try again? Quote What things should I lie about or not tell them (that would void my warranty)? You call them and ask for an RMA if you determine those are the problems. I would never lie about anything, but did you do something to these components? Where did you get them? Did you put the dialup phone number in? Give the Internet Connection Wizard a try. Will try SP2.. I bought both retail from www.newegg.com I haven't done anything to the Mobo, but i put an aftermarket HSF on. I read on the warranty that it would void it... >.< There was no dial up number to put in, it was automatic. "we will now make a tollfree call." with the buttons 'continue' and 'cancel'. I'm sure all this isp helpful software is designed to make people dependent on them. At the end of the day all you need to do is dialup and put in your username & password. Try windows Internet Connection Wizard, ask your isp for the email settings, pop3 & smtp.No the problem is that my modem/computer/whatever wont even DIAL the number. I even used some program called "hyper connect" or something like that. I then found instructions on how to figure out if my comp was connecting to the modem (it was) and then i tried to make it dial a phone number (i got it from my isp) and it wont. It picks up the line (i can hear dial tone) and nothing happens. The drivers show that the modem is indeed connected, but it fails to dial. No beeps, just dial tone. Then the woman comes on "the time allotted for you to dial.." and my computer crashes.Going back to the beginning here. Is this a new modem? What type? Has it been tried in another machine with success so that we know it is not just modem trouble? |
