Answer» Hey Guys, I REALLY need some help on this one. I was sitting in my chair, after installing some new hardware on my comp, so i had the case open. I ASKED my girlfriend to bring me a can of MOUNTAIN dew and she sets it on my desk. The CLOSED can of mountain dew falls, hits the wall, rips a hole in the side of the can, and rolls into my case, spraying mountain dew all over inside the case.... my first reaction? unplug it. the first couple of days after the incident when i tried to boot it up, nothing. no bios, no case fan, nothing. dead silent. now when i plug it in, it gives the VID card specs and COMES up with the mobo boot picture, thats it. but when i unplug the keyboard, it says under it "To Display System messages, press the key" i have tried and can get no further. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!Wow, I've never heard of that happening. Just wondering, have you unplugged the computer, taken everything out and wiped it down with a damp, not wet, cloth? Don't know if it will work but it's something to try.wait *censored*, i unplugged the cd drive and now its actually booting up... :-? problem solved, due to some experimenting and a damp cloth, Thanks Man!!In case any other newbs read this, for the record, wiping the insides of a computer with a damp cloth is NOT RECOMMENDED!Take out each component and clean CAREFULLY, if you must. Do not take the system in the BACK yard and hose it down. |
