Answer» I've had my pc for about a year and half and it has so far been a very stable machine. HOWEVER, the other day, after exiting a game, the machine froze then rebooted itself. Now I can only get into windows using safe mode. I get a brief blue screen with WRITING on that disappears so quickly I can't read the message. Sometimes the colour is weird on the monitor and sometimes, although not in safe mode, the monitor will shut down saying - no message, going to sleep? Even though the hard drive is still running, and then the monitor will start up again and I can see windows is still running but as soon as I click an icon, the monitor will shut down again? Now I've checked for viruses and malware and nothing came up. I haven't loaded any new programs recently. Can anybody help?Without any information on your system, I would suspect a misconfigured/bad/intermittent graphics card or onboard graphics circuit.
Gaming tends to be rather demanding on your graphics and can be the cause of lots of related problems.
Try another graphics card or tell us what you are using and we can try to help with more than guesswork.
Dellok,
I gotta pentium 4, 512 ram, 260gb hard drive, Nvidia Gforce 5800 graphics, 400w PSU. Not sure what my mobo is, the lcd monitor is a Fujitsu siemens, not sure of model type.
I'm using windows xp home and I've never had a problem playing games on it before, infact I've already PLAYED the game it first crashed on before and experienced no problems.
Many thanks for your help.can anyone help me with this PLEASE?You have to respond to the questions asked and provide more information. We can guess all day, but that benefits no one. Here it is again:
