Answer» I reformatted my hard drive because I THINK I had a virus. Then I reinstalled windows 98. Now the computer wont recognizes the CD-ROM the floppy drive or the jump drive. I also can't change the monitor from the lowest resolution and color settings (I do have the monitor MANUFACTURERS DRIVER installed) Do I need to reinstall the Bios? Do I still have a virus?in answer to your questions no. Just sounds like you need to fiddle with it. I'm not too familier with windows 98 as i was like 7 last USED it.Reformating doesn't necessarily get rid of a virus. You need a good anti virus program or an online scan to do this. Also, any malware programs you can FIND. Try that before doing anything irrevocable. |
