Answer» I was wondering if anyone knows if a Dell motherboard model 0G1548 A00 can have a firewire connected to it? I tried looking into it but COULD not find an answer.If it has it a firewire port on board, then yes, otherwise you'll need an add on CARD. Dell Dimension 2400s don't have FireWire connectors on them. However, you can BUY a PCI FireWire card that will plug into your computer and give you FireWire support.Sorry, i should have been more clear. There is no firewire port on this computer but I wanted to know if I could add one to the motherboard? If there are available PCI slots you can add a card... What do you need the firewire for ? ?It is to run protools. The computer specs will be able to run it but I am just not SURE if I can buy a firewire card for this motherboard. It sounds like if there is a slot for it available then it should be ok.When you shop for the card make sure it gas a Driver for the OS you are RUNNING on that PC...So it looks like as long as the motherboard has a slot available then all I need is to make sure the Firewire port can run with my OS.
