Solve : does using DVI connection actually make significant difference??

Answer»

I bought a BFG 8500GT with 256mb memory to replace my old ATI xpress200 series card. 8500GT ain't the best card, but considering I got it from newegg at $79.99 and there is free shipping and $40 rebate to make it $40 FINAL COST makes it a steal.

My question now: usng the DVI port on the card connected to the DVI port on my LCD monitor using DVI to DVI cable make any significant DIFFERENCE in the graphics as compared to simply using VGA to VGA?apparently it does make a difference, whether or not its noticeable is another question.

Yes. It does. When I got my LCD, I didn't know, DVI cable was not included, so I used VGA cable for couple of days, then I got DVI, and there is a difference.Ok, I realize that DVI is digital and VGA is analog. SIMILAR to TV. Digital TV obviously better than analog.

Now, how about if you connected DVI to VGA using a DVI to VGA connector? Or would it be better to connect DVI to DVI directly using a DVI to DVI cable ?Using any adapter will KILL a bit of signal/quality.
I know, that cable is *censored* expensive, but it's worth it.
