Answer» Quote from: squall_01 on January 04, 2008, 03:57:12 AM I typed in directory an got DRDOS,OAK,NR,WWBMU,README,AutoDos7,DconfigIf dir does not show dlgdiag as an available file you'll get the bad command or file name error message. This is also why the FORMAT command is not working. As I believe was mentioned above it's likely this is just a diagnostic diskette you're using and not a setup diskette. If you're wanting access to a format command you may want to simply use your Windows XP disc and boot from it and setup the drive using it.I want to put linux on it, but it was a slave to one that had xp. I was told by patio to try that.Okay I got into fdisk with it an it says when I go to delete the parition Enter the number of partitions to delete, I press one and it says you can't do this in stander mode strike a key to return to main menu. When I type format an I get invaild command, /HELP /f:size /N Sectors /T:Tracks. I have 2K HD in the system KNOW the other one was a slave with no os an I got this program requires a fixed disk when I did fdiskFirst, make sure you're booting from a bootable diskette if you're planning on using either of these utilities. Not familiar with fdisk prompting you with how MANY partitions you wish to delete. Where in fdisk are you going to get this option? What is the format command you're typing *exactly*?So I have to have a floppy in the bay? The main menu on FDISK 1) Create Partition 2)Delete Partition 3)Select Bootable Partition 4)Select Alternate fixdisk 5)Rewrite Master bootrecored Pressed 2 and came up w/ enter desire option, 1 delete primary partition,Then it comes up with number of partions to delete. Here's some info about the partitions on there. NO Start End MB Drive Status Type 1 0 383 3021.1 -- A HPFS/NTFS (OS/2 or NT);QNX; Advance Unix 2 348 1023 1655.3 -- N FAT16X (secondary, LBA) As for Format, Format C: /u Format C: C: Format.com ..... Tried it viceversa an what was posed hereI used maxblast 3 an was able to format them just wanted to know just in case I come across it again |
