Solve : Dos Programs on Windows 2000 Server?

I have recently re-installed windows 2000 SERVER,
but now all the dos PROGRAMS that USED to WORK on it GIVE an error: "attempt to access invalid address". Not only that but things like the edit command give the same error.
Any suggestions.
