Solve : Dotted, contrasted moving lines everywhere.? |
|
Answer» So here's what happened. I was playing a game and I hit a key a bit abnormally harder than one should hit a key on a keyboard and the screen just flipped out. There are red lines everywhere and they SOMETIMES move around and they are dotted. Sometimes, but rarely, I move my laptop and the PATTERNS change, sometimes making the screen completely red and sometimes, making the screen normal. I am running Windows Vista Home Basic on a DELL Inspiron 1525 laptop. I'm guessing that it is just the hardware under the D key that has shifted or something because I can still get it back to normal by moving it, but I don't know how to open the laptop to get at the parts to re-sit the CPU. If I am off track with my prediction on what happened, please tell me what you think happened and how to fix it. Thanks guys! Here is a screenshot of my desktop. What it sounds like is the LVDS cable may have come unseated from the motherboard. if you do not feel comfortable opening the laptop please take it to a local repair shop to have this checked. if you want to check this yourself you can by opening the laptop and reseating the cable under the top strip above the keyboard. refer to the following video to see how to do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txCMlP_syDs Quote from: Larry D. The cable could either be loose, or it is ALSO possibly damaged and needs to be replaced. If you have never opened a laptop before I would highly recommend taking it to a local repair shop. |
