Solve : Downgrading Windows 10 To 7?

Answer»

I have asus laptop G551VW-FY212T and windows 10 has a lot of issues, I can't reset windows 10 os it gives me error so I just want to downgrade to windows 7. How do I downgrade to windows 7? Should I do it though bios or in windows 10? Now I heard of this Chinese program called driver genius which is suppose to download drivers for COMPUTER that does not support windows 7. Problem is though it is in Chinese so what other way can I download windows 7 drivers for this laptop? I have a windows 7 disc to put in my laptop but the track pad and keyboard are unresponsive during windows 7 setup. External mouse keyboard do not work either Some questions.
Did this computer have Windows 7 at one time?
Exactly what version of Windows 10 do you have?

Suppose somebody has Windows 10 on a new PC and wants to downgrade to 7. Does Microsoft allow that? Well, yes. Sort of.

If you recently purchased a new computer, preinstalled with Windows 10, only to find out it does not work with your hardware or software, or you just don’t like it, then you might want to consider returning the computer. The hassle associated with actually downgrading is not as convenient and smooth sailing as you might believe
He has a point. What is your time worth? Or, if you can not return it, maybe you could just sell it and accept the loose as a learning experience. Or maybe trade with somebody that has a similar computer running Windows 7.

If that does not seem piratical, come back here for more ideas.

1) You can't downgrade if it wasn't previously installed. You have to have a Windows 7 DVD and do a clean installation after formatting the drive.

2) You need to find out if Asus provides drivers for W7. If not, don't install W7.

3) What specific problems are you having with W10?

4) Your user name is kind of ironic, don't you think? Quote from: Allan on November 27, 2016, 05:27:57 AM

Many articles on the Internet try to explain this.
Dell:

Microsoft:

From the above it seems to say that having a legal Windows 10 does not give you automatic right to Windows 7.
Also, you can download a copy of Windows 7 and install it without a product key. But you have a time limit. You must get a key withing 30 days. The product key itself can be purchased from independent sources.
Win 10 PRO qualifies for a free downgrade path to Win 7...

It's the only version that does. When I bought my current PC in May 2015, it had OEM Windows 8.1 Professional downgraded to Windows 7, and I took the Windows 10 upgrade as soon as it was announced a couple of months later. I still have a Macrium image of the PC in its delivered state, but I don't think I'll ever use it.
Microsoft gives these downgrade rights for OEM products:

Windows 10 Pro to Windows 8.1 Pro or Windows 7 Pro
Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 7 Pro or Windows VISTA Business
Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows Vista Business and Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, or Windows XP x64 Edition

They note downgrade rights are only available as long as Microsoft provides support for that earlier version, I don't know how that affects people wanting to GO back to Windows 7, Vista or XP

Shouldn't affect 7 at all...Vista and XP i cannot speak to...
