Hi, I have a user who just GOT a new Dell laptop. He also has a 21 in monitor. I am trying to get him setup with dual display which works. He WANTS the same display on both monitors but I cannot get the resolution to work independently on each. I have tried using nvidia control panel and the Windows display SETTINGS to adjust but when I change the resolution so it looks clear on the external monitor the laptop screen is just a blank desktop. No icons, taskbar or anything.Press the Function key on the keyboard and the key that switches your display.

I.e. FN + F7.

To change the resolution on the second monitor, you must change it on the primary monitor too.Have a look at Professor Messers' session on video displays
