|
Answer» I'm running Vista and only have one DVD ROM on my computer. It still opens but when I put in a DVD it loads for a minute or two then says to insert a disc. The drive still shows up on My Computer and the Device Manager doesn't show that it has any problem. I've restarted the computer a couple times and re-installed the drive but it didn't help at all. take it apart and void the warranty void the warranty on the DVD drive or on the computer? On the computer, I figured if I took out the drive it would void the warranty on the computer. Is it ok to use canned air in the CD-ROM?Quote I figured if I took out the drive it would void the warranty on the computer. it MIGHT be wise to check and MAKE sure that you wont void your warranty by opening it. Quote Is it ok to use canned air in the CD-ROM? ive never used canned air in my DVD drive before, but i dont see how it could hurt the drive.Ok, I'll check out the warranty and try to clean it out some more and hope it works. Try uninstalling Virtual CD/DVD Rom.Quote 1. take apart the DVD drive and clean the lens I would kind of recommend against that as it is a Class II laser device... |
