Solve : DVD/CD ROM stopped working?

1.	Solve : DVD/CD ROM stopped working?
Answer» I'm running Vista and only have one DVD ROM on my computer. It still opens but when I put in a DVD it loads for a minute or two then says to insert a disc. The drive still shows up on My Computer and the Device Manager doesn't show that it has any problem. I've restarted the computer a couple times and re-installed the drive but it didn't help at all. Any help would be great, thanks!heres a couple of suggestions... 1. take apart the DVD drive and clean the lens 2. if suggestion 1 doesnt work, purchase a new one. DVD DRIVES are about $30 now.Do you know of any ways that I could narrow it down to being DIRTY or just cleaning it without removing the drive? I don't want to take it apart and void the warranty but I don't want to send it in if it's something easy I can fix. Have you installed any Virtual CD/DVD Rom? If Yes.
Try uninstalling Virtual CD/DVD Rom.Quote
