Solve : DVD Drive 'Dissapeared'?

Answer»

Hello everyone! Boy am I having probs with my new build (See prev. POST!!) My Sata DVD drive was working ok until today, when I decided to make a RAID floppy, I put in the Driver disc & it did not autoplay, so I went to computer & it is not listed anymore. I checked cables etc, went into BIOS & it was there, rebooted but still no luck. Dev.Mngr showed a yellow warning so I reinstalled drivers but WINDOWS said they were ok, but then said code 39, windows cannot load drivers for this device. Please help!!Try one of these:
1. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
or...
2. Download, and run Restore Missing CD Drive patch
Double click on downloaded file, and ALLOW registry merge.
or...
3. GO to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
You'll see two items:
- ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel)
- ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel)
Right click on each of them, and click Uninstal. Confirm.
Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled. Many thanks Broni, Step 3) worked. Now the drive is back! AlexmaGood work Mr. 16000.

Cool Thanks it works for me too!!!!!!!!!!!!OH, I'm glad. It's nice to kill two birds with one shot
