Solve : Dvd Drive not recognised? |
|
Answer» My DVD drive is not being recognised by my computer. What happened was that I unselected all my startup programs and services in msconfig. After I did this both the CD and DVD drives were not being detected by my computer. I tried to use system restore but it did not work. Why did you do this ? ? Again is it being detected by the BIOS ? ? Did you try what was suggested above ? ?I did this to speed up my BOOTUP. The BIOS does not detect anything. I did try what you said, the cables are all hooked up. It was suggested I reinstall Windows, COULD this HELP?No. If the BIOS is not detecting either of them you need a new cable and/or new drives... Windows is not the issue here. How many BIOS changes have you been fiddling with along with disabling services ? ?just the services were unselected. But I do have all them selected now. There was more than one question...I haven't made any other BIOS changesTry only one drive at a TIME... Jumper it as master and hook it up to the end connector on the ribbon cable... Re-boot a few times and see if it's recognised in the BIOS. If not try the drive on another machine. Did you check the ribbon cable connection at the motherboard ? ? |
